not to be missed the medieval mosaics and the birthplace of Jesus.<\/p>\n<div class=\"spacer\"><\/div><!-- .spacer (end) -->\n<h2 class=\"lista_itinerari\"><span style=\"color: #b70000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2183\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Colosseo-piccolo-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"View of the Colosseum, Rome\" width=\"200\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Colosseo-piccolo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Colosseo-piccolo.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Ancient Rome<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">Colosseo, Palatine hill and\u00a0Roman Forum<\/h3>\n<p>The Colosseum, one of the new seven wonders of the world, built nearly 2000 years ago, the symbol of Rome;\u00a0 then a visit to the Palatine Hill, where Rome was founded by Romulus and where the Roman emperors lived, and then on to the Roman Forum \u00a0- the political, religious and economic centre of ancient Rome.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">The Catacombs and the Appia Antica<\/h3>\n<p>The Appian Way - the ancient Roman road built 24 centuries ago, keeping the charm of the queen of the streets, then the visit to the catacombs of San Sebastiano and San Callisto - underground cemeteries with the testimonies of the beginning of Christianity, and the church of Domine Quo Vadis built on the place where Saint Peter had the vision of the risen Christ.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">National Roman Museum<\/h3>\n<p>A museum with the richest archaeological collection inside the Baths of Diocletian built in the third century A.C. , the largest ever built in Rome, with the visit to the Carthusian monastery and Museum of Palazzo Massimo, \u00a0to the baths with the frescoes of the House of Livia, wife of Augustus, the famous Boxer at Rest and always a rich archaeological collection<\/p>\n<div class=\"spacer\"><\/div><!-- .spacer (end) -->\n<h2 class=\"lista_itinerari\"><span style=\"color: #b70000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2180\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cavallo-fontana-di-trevi-piccolo-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Cavallo fontana di trevi piccolo\" width=\"200\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cavallo-fontana-di-trevi-piccolo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cavallo-fontana-di-trevi-piccolo.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Rome walking tours<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">Rome squares<\/h3>\n<p>\u2022 Piazza Venezia - the central square in Rome with the magnificent \"Vittoriano\" national monument\u00a0 called by the Romans with so many derogatory nicknames but leaves tourists breathless;<br \/>\n\u2022 Piazza Navona which has kept the shape of the Stadium of Domitian now embellished by three Baroque fountains;<br \/>\n\u2022 Pantheon - the pagan temple of the 2nd century A.C. converted into a church in the Middle Ages;<br \/>\n\u2022 the Trevi Fountain - the most famous one of Rome and the inevitable stop for the launch of the coins;<br \/>\n\u2022 Piazza di Spagna with the famous steps, and Piazza del Popolo - a mixture of artistic styles and different historical periods<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">The\u00a0Ghetto<\/h3>\n<p>or Jewish quarter with the synagogue, the many narrow picturesque streets, the kitchen smells which is a combination of the kosher and the typical Roman cuisine<\/p>\n<div class=\"spacer\"><\/div><!-- .spacer (end) -->\n<h2 class=\"lista_itinerari\"><span style=\"color: #b70000;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2180\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cavallo-fontana-di-trevi-piccolo-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Cavallo fontana di trevi piccolo\" width=\"200\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cavallo-fontana-di-trevi-piccolo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rometours.guide\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/Cavallo-fontana-di-trevi-piccolo.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/>Out of Town<\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">Tivoli<\/h3>\n<p>a town 28 km out of Rome, famous for its palaces, most of all the well-known \u00a0Villa D'Este of Cardinal d'Este, with its one hundred fountains and grottoes in its splendid gardens.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">Castelli Romani<\/h3>\n<p>villages located in the south-east of Rome built around the crater of the dormant Vulcano Laziale and two other volcanic crater lakes. Nowadays it\u2019s an area frequented by the Romans for the good food and, in ancient times, by the aristocracy and the Roman emperors who wanted to escape from the heat; they built many houses in this area which, centuries later, were transformed into castles by noble families. The most famous: Castel Gandolfo with the Pope\u2019s\u00a0 summer residence: \u00a0the picturesque Nemi famous for its wild strawberries; \u00a0Frascati with its magnificent villas; Marino interesting to visit in October during the Wine Festival when wine instead of water is welling \u00a0out from the central Fontana del Moro\u2026<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"itinerario\">Places of the Second Parthian Legion in Albano Laziale<\/h3>\n<p>the mythical Alba Longa founded in the 12<sup>th<\/sup> century B.C., mother of Rome seeing as Romulus and Remus were the grandchildren of a king of Alba Longa. \u00a0It was destroyed in the 7<sup>th<\/sup> century B.C. by a Roman king, but the importance of this area continues due to\u00a0 the construction of the Appian Way and the villas of the aristocrats and emperors. Emperor Septimius Severus allocated here the camp of the Second Parthian Legion and for that Albano represents a unicum in the world since the legions were positioned along the borders of the Roman Empire.
